GHWH Spartans Grades 6-8

6 th   & 7 th   Grade Reading Class:   Students will take an assessment on Tues. Oct. 4 th  that will cover some of the concepts from the Reading & Reasoning workbook.  Pages from the workbook are being sent home on Wed. Sept 28 th   for students to review & complete if necessary.  Any students that need help can come by during Lyceum or on Monday during morning break.

Grade Reports All students will receive a printout of their current grades on Friday, Sept. 16th.  Students should return the printouts by Tuesday, Sept. 20th with a parent signature.  As a reminder:  Grade   Printouts Approximately every 2 weeks, teachers will prepare “assignment/ grade   printouts ” for students so that they can have an accurate accounting of what assignments may be missing and whether their assessments are indicating a need for tutoring. These   printouts   will be offered to students alongside of a short meeting with the teacher if necessary. These   grade   reports will require a parent signature; the hope is that teachers/students and students/parents will be able to have meaningful conversations around struggles and successes so that appropriate plans and priorities can be put in place or adjusted.   Students   should note that any assignment in the   grade   printout that is marked with a zero cannot be made up unless it is within the timeframe allowed for make

  8th Grade Students Students will begin their next novel -   Sir Gawain and the Green Knight on Monday, September 19th.                                                                             Sir Gawain and the Green Knight ISBN: 978-0451531193

     6 th   & 7 th   Reading students will have a test over roots on Wednesday September 21 st .   A list of roots and derivations for the test will be sent home on Wednesday September 14 th .

7th-grade scholars  took their Pre-Algebra Unit 1 Test on Tuesday of last week. These tests were returned in class this Tuesday. As a parent/guardian, please sign the graded test and remind your student to return it to me by  Thursday, September 8th.  If your scholar scored below a 70, test corrections are due by Thursday as well.

There will not be a Greek & Latin Root Quiz on Friday Sept. 9 th .  The next quiz will be on Friday Sept. 16 th .

 Grade Printouts! Students will receive a grade printout from every teacher on Friday, September 2nd.  Each printout should be signed by a parent and returned to the teacher by Wednesday, September 7th.  Any questions should be directed to the teacher.
