GHWH Spartans Grades 6-8

  Calling all 7th Graders! You are invited to the Call of the Wild Hike! When : Saturday, Feb. 4th  Gather at 8:30 - Hike begins at 9am and ends at 10:30 am with parent pickup by 11am Who : All 7th graders, their parents, and their dogs. (Dogs must be on their leash at all times) What to bring : Plenty of healthy hiking snacks, water, good hiking shoes, and a positive attitude!

  **Please have your student bring their copy of Animal Farm to class next Thursday, Dec. 15th.  ** Out of the Silent Planet Assessment on Thursday, Dec. 15th 

  6th Grade Literature *There will be a test over   A Christmas Carol   on Wednesday, December 14th. *If you have a copy of   Magician's Nephew  at home, please bring your scholar bring it to school by December 9th. *We will begin   Wind in the Willows  when we return from Christmas break.

 In preparation for Beowulfathon this Saturday - 8th grade students will be working on a writing assignment this week using their Beowulf book.   We will begin "Out of the Silent Planet" on Monday, December 5th.  Please be sure your student has their own copy of this Classic to Keep!  Thank you!

  Grade Reports All students will receive a printout of their current grades on Friday, Oct. 28th.  Students should return the grade printout reflections with a parent signature by Tuesday, Nov. 1st.  As a reminder:  Grade   Printouts Approximately every 2 weeks, teachers will prepare “assignment/ grade   printouts ” for students so that they can have an accurate accounting of what assignments may be missing and whether their assessments are indicating a need for tutoring. These   printouts   will be offered to students alongside of a short meeting with the teacher if necessary. These   grade   reports will require a parent signature; the hope is that teachers/students and students/parents will be able to have meaningful conversations around struggles and successes so that appropriate plans and priorities can be put in place or adjusted.   Students   should note that any assignment in the   grade   printout that is marked with a zero cannot be made up unless it is within the timeframe
